Code of Conduct

1. Purpose

A primary goal of RECKON 2.0 is to be inclusive to the largest number of contributors, with the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to provide a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof).

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our event, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

We invite all those who participate in RECKON 2.0 to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.

2. Open Culture Citizenship

A supplemental goal of this Code of Conduct is to increase open culture citizenship by encouraging participants to recognize and strengthen the relationships between our actions and their effects on our event.

If you see someone who is making an extra effort to ensure our event is welcoming, friendly, and encourages all participants to contribute to the fullest extent, we want to know.

3. Expected Behavior

The following behaviors are expected and requested from all event members:

  • Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of this event.
  • Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.
  • Attempt collaboration before the conflict.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert event leaders if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct, even if they seem inconsequential.
  • Remember that event venues may be shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations.

 

4. Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered harassment and are unacceptable during the course of event:

  • Violence, threats of violence or violent language directed against another person.
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material.
  • Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information ("doxing").
  • Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability.
  • Inappropriate photography or recording.
  • Inappropriate physical contact. You should have someone’s consent before touching them.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes sexualized comments or jokes; inappropriate touching, groping, and unwelcome sexual advances.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following (online or in person).
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
  • Sustained disruption of event, including talks and presentations.

5. Weapons Policy

No weapons will be allowed at RECKON events, event spaces, or in other spaces covered by the scope of this Code of Conduct. Weapons include but are not limited to guns, explosives (including fireworks), and large knives such as those used for hunting or display, as well as any other item used for the purpose of causing injury or harm to others. Anyone seen in possession of one of these items will be asked to leave immediately, and will only be allowed to return without the weapon. Event members are further expected to comply with all state and local laws on this matter.

6. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior from any event member, including collaborators and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If a event member engages in unacceptable behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the event without warning (and without refund in the case of a paid event).

7. Reporting Guidelines

If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a event organizer as soon as possible. (Contact Number for Reporting: 9166048255)

Additionally, event organizers are available to help event members engage with local law enforcement or to otherwise help those experiencing unacceptable behavior feel safe. In the context of in-person events, organizers will also provide escorts as desired by the person experiencing distress.

8. Addressing Grievances

If you feel you have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating this Code of Conduct, you should notify RECKON - Core Team with a concise description of your grievance. Your grievance will be handled in accordance with our existing governing policies.

9. Scope

We expect all event participants (contributors, paid or otherwise; sponsors; and other guests) to abide by this Code of Conduct in all event venues–online and in-person–as well as in all one-on-one communications pertaining to event business.

This code of conduct and its related procedures also applies to unacceptable behavior occurring outside the scope of event activities when such behavior has the potential to adversely affect the safety and well-being of event members.

Agriculture

  • Building smart and efficient solutions and platforms for farmers who are not aware of technology to increase
  • the productivity and quality of crops.
  • Direct supply chains of products from farmers to the market.
  • Seed funding for farmers and local enterprise businesses.
  • Affordable systems for collective use of shared machinery and security(for land and stock).

Communication

  • A low bandwidth system for areas with low network connectivity.
  • Yellow pages for locality which can be edited easily.
  • Applications to compare prices of local shops(also, online shopping and payment portals).

Business & Entrepreneurship

  • A platform for crowdsourcing and funding for startups and local business.
  • Creating online/offline solutions to enhance business and entrepreneurship skills.

Efficient Energy Generation & Management

  • Developing low-cost smart products for energy use.
  • Conceptualizing ways to facilitate electricity and clean water to all through hyperlocal solutions.
  • Devising ways to use renewable resources.

ISRO

  • India leads the world in open defecation. This gives rise to disease, childhood malnutrition, loss of economic output and violence against women.

  • Requirement: A Web crawler, sometimes called a spiderbot, is an Internet bot that systematically browses the World Wide Web. A customized or readymade or programmed Crawler is required to search all the NEWS portals in India from the year 2010 till date (i.e 2019 March) in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Oriay, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, North East Language, English and Hindi. This crawler program will search for the incidents of Rape / Rape of Minor Girl / Gang Rape / Gang Rape Minor Girl / Animal Attack/ Suicide due to Shame because of somebody seen privacy / Molestation / Rape and Murder/ Rape and Murder of Minor girl.

  • To locate nearest NGO’s, NPO’s, and/or Government bodies for help or support.
  • Counseling for mental health issues in a locality.
  • Any Idea that profit the society.

National Informatics Center, Jodhpur

    Phase 1

    • There are many public development agencies like Jodhpur Development Authority, Local Body(Municipal Corporation/Municipal Council/Municipality ), Public Work Department (PWD). Citizen don’t know in which dept to register the complaint regarding road maintenance etc.
    • It is proposed to have a solution whereby the complainant, through his mobile captures the “image”(along with its properties like geo-coordinates) of a road problem like pit etc and sends to centralized server.
    • Centralized application on receipt of image, will identify the public development department, under whose jurisdiction the “road” (inferred from geo-coordinates) is and sends complaint to that department
    • Department , on receipt of complaint will verify from centralized data whether the said problem is rectified or not and if not will take action as may be suitable to resolve the problem.

    Phase 2

    • An extension of Phase-1 will be “identification” of work area so that “Duplicate development works” on the said geo-coordinates can be stopped thereby resulting in less corruption and saving to exchequer

Anti Corruption Bureau, Jodhpur

  • Platform to set various files and evidence according to year and cases, the DB should be update-able and can be accessed remotely.
  • A platform that can keep track of the supply process in multiple tenders and capability to highlight any misreadings.
  • Automatic notification panel with details of the hearing of a case, list of people as evidence with their importance(scale of -5) for any case
  • Analysis of property of any individual (more property than income cases)
  • A platform to recruit Expert panel to draft a report on the target case.

Bar Council Association, Jodhpur

  • A speech-to-text app that can help to search in English with a local accent.
  • A notification system to tell details about the hearing date, time, (if) notes takes etc of the case to both the parties and related people.
  • An app to maintain the order-sheet(a sheet that includes case details and a briefing along with some notes).
  • A platform for money(payment) exchange from a lawyer/party to another lawyer/party that can also show various basic rates of every lawyer.

Breaking all stereotypes of hackathons, RECKON 2.0, 2019 Hackathon is going to be the Jodhpur’s biggest 24 hrs social hackathon to date. Expecting many techs and non-tech participants across India to work overnight and shape their ideas into products, thus having a social impact.

  • 1. The Change-Makers (participants) can work on different themes and the social problems statements using web/mobile and IoT platform.
  • 2. A Change-Maker can be anybody who is willing to work hard and don’t even need to be a coder.)

How does registration work?

Registration is open until MARCH 10, 11:59 pm GMT+0530! Admissions will be based on a feasibility along with business espect of your idea. If you’re accepted, you’ll have to confirm your attendance by MARCH 14th 2018 .

Does this cost money?

Nope! Admission is free and includes meals,drinks, snacks, overnight hosting,swag, and a memorable experience (if we do say so ourselves)!

Where will I sleep?

Hacking all night is fun, but you can also get some rest when you need it in our rest room!

What if i reach venue before event and i need accomodation?

We will start check-ins for free accomodation by MARCH 15th 4:00 pm GMT+0530 but you have to check-out by MARCH 18th 1:00 pm GMT+0530.

How do I get there?

You can reach venue on your own convinience or reach to JODHPUR's selected checkpoints, JIET buses will pick you.Futher details will be given to you by mail if you are selected.

What should I bring?

Bring a valid student ID or government-issued ID for admission and a laptop for hacking. We’ll provide pretty much everything else—meals,snacks,toiletries, stickers, sponsor swag, and more! If you like to be comfy, you can bring a blanket, pillow, and towel.

What about Internet?

We will provide you free WIFI/LAN ,for better experience try to bring your own.

How do teams work?

Teams are at most 4 people. You can select teammates when you register, or you can register individually without specified teammates.

What if I don’t have a team?

If you don’t have a team now, that’s okay! We’ll have team formation and ideation events geared towards helping you find people to work with.

What if I’m an JIET student?

Registration are open to all students(school/college),professionals,startups etc can surely participate.

What about hardware hacks?

You have to bring your hack's hardware components.

Where’s the schedule?

We’ll release a more detailed schedule after closing date of registration and comfirmation.

What are factions?

We created factions to encourage hackers to have fun and interact with each other outside of normal teams when you’re not working on your projects. The Red Faction and Blue Faction are hackathon-wide groups that collectively complete challenges at RECKON 2.0 for points. The faction with the most points will win and get a surprise upon the conclusion of the hackathon.

How do I choose a faction?

We will allot you faction during hall registration.

Can team members belong to different factions?

Yes, factions do not limit your forming of individual teams.
